If you are one of the lucky homeowners of a roof with poor ventilation, heat loss and pitch then the word ice dam gives chills up and down your spine. Ice dams occur from the heat of your house escaping through your roof and turning snow into ice. Each day the ice dam gets bigger and bigger as snow turns into ice; the deeper the snow, the worse the ice dam. Warner’s has been assisting customers with ice dams since 1999. We use steaming machines that allow us to cut away at your ice dams and get them off your roof. By using steam you can be assured that your roof will not be damaged during the process. To prevent future ice dams, please refer to our roof snow removal section. Below is an illustration of ice dam formation.
